Many composers have added to the classical tradition of piano music in this way by writing 24 Preludes, most notably Chopin, Debussy and Shostakovich. Hear the new sonority of Francis Routh's 24 Preludes for piano by downloading four of them from the recording by Charles Matthews, shortly to be released by Redcliffe Recordings.
